A Great Introduction to Colombian food Alejandro was phenomenal. Not only was he knowledgeable about the area, he also gave us tips on things to do while in Medellin. He knew all the best food spots and shared great stories about his experiences growing up eating these dishes. Will definitely do this tour again and highly recommend it

Fantastic experience! Fantastic tour of Comuna 13! Alejandro was brilliant - very knowledgeable about the history of the area so we learned a lot. We didn’t know what to expect but would 100% recommend this experience. We also loved being able to try lots of local food and drink (particularly the tropical fruits and the coffee!)! Thank you!

Amazing food tour and guide Our guide Alejandro was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Colombia and took care of us every step of the way. We ate delicious food ranging from empanadas to fruit and dessert. He was able to answer all of our questions and was clearly passionate about his work. Would recommend the food tour, especially with Alejandro.

Delicious Food Tour was the Best Delicious Food Tour was the Best If you’re hungry, this tour is for you. We did a Street Food Tour with La Mesa and Sebastián was our guide. It was a walking tour in a small, cute town near Medellin. Our guide told us about the tradition of the food and the products in every shop we ran into. He bought different stuff for us to taste. We started with empanadas for breakfast and tried weird sodas from Colombia. Later we went to a market fruit shop where we tried dozens of Colombian fruit new for us. We tasted different types of bananas, passion fruits, mangoes, and other tropical things we didn't know. Our guide was very good at explaining everything. Then we tried different juices from exotic fruit. After a quick spin through town, we went to a traditional restaurant where we shared a few Colombian meals. We drank a Colombian shot at a football-themed bar, it tasted like Greek ouzo. Finally, we ended the tour with the best churros we ever had, from a small cart on the street. I deeply reccomend this experience to discover Colombian food. Five Stars! Thanks

Just do it. Fantastic food tour! So much food to try from street food, fruits, juice, desert and even visited a local restraunt. Amazing amazing AMAZING! Alex (for short) was outstanding and made it a very enjoyable and fantastic tour. He even adjusted to the groups needs going as far as to think about my children who were originally going to join!

La Mesa Food Tours provide enough food and drink that for most of our guests a meal afterwards is definitely not necessary. With the combination of drink and food tastings along with breaks for cultural and historical insights, most people are comfortably full after our food tours.

Our tours vary in the amount of walking that is done by the group depending on the tour selected. In general, tours last between 3 to 4 hours, and participants can expect to be standing or walking for a good portion of the time. We walk at a moderate pace and also provide opportunities to sit-down and rest for any long walking periods.

We can privatize your group if there are 4 or more people and keep the regular price. If there are less than 4 people, we will charge an additional fee to close the other spots and run the tour just for you.

It’s a ton of fun and a ton of delicious food, and is easier to find veggie options than on the Street Food Tour.
